New sessions for girls and tots are planned as JLz Ballerz and Premier Training aim to make 2025 bigger and better than ever!
Supported by Premier Training from the start, the ground-breaking Ballerz initiative uses sport as a platform to get young boys and girls active – improving their teamwork, decision-making skills, confidence and wellbeing.
Based in Immingham, North East Lincolnshire, this project has so far seen almost 200 boys and girls aged 3-6 join its weekly football courses. Dozens have gone on to play for the nearby Immingham Pilgrims Junior Club, and ten new coaches (male and female) have been trained ready to support even more young people in the area.
With Premier Training’s continued support, JLz Ballerz aims to go a step further in 2025 – launching a Ballerz for Girls session. This will focus on female participation, providing a space where girls can feel comfortable and supported as they develop their skills.
Tots’ Sessions are also in the pipeline, aimed at children as young as two-years-old, where parents can participate alongside their children in sports activities. Research shows this kind of parent-child activity helps improve balance, coordination and confidence during those important early years.
JLz Ballerz’s Johnny Leach said:
“Thanks to JLz Ballerz, last season Immingham Pilgrims were able to field two under-7s teams in the league for the first time in 10 years. 2024 also marked the debut of our first female coach, something we are incredibly proud of.
“In just three years, 25% of the kids we’ve promoted to Pilgrims have already had the opportunity to trial with professional clubs before their ninth birthday, which is an outstanding achievement.
“Our goal for 2025 is to make it our best year yet. We’re seeing participants coming from as far as Cleethorpes, Grimsby, Caistor and Hull. Our reach is growing, and more families are choosing us for their children’s development, which is fantastic.
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that Premier Training has done for JLz Ballerz over the past three years. Watching the kids grow and thrive in our program has been nothing short of amazing, and I look forward to seeing what the future holds.”
