“I’m looking to get into a position where I can really make a difference and shape a role as my own. I no longer want to be just a number.”
After working within business and finance administration and processing for more than 15 years, Sharon Warburton is determined to enhance her CV by gaining all three AAT Accounting qualifications.
Having enrolled onto the AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting with Premier Training at the end of 2020, Sharon is well on the way to completing the Level 2 qualification and moving swiftly onto the Advanced Diploma.
Explaining what inspired her to begin studying, she said: “I lost my dad in September to cancer which was an extremely difficult time for me – this gave me a real wake-up call and inspired me to ‘do better’ hence I started studying.
“I began studies around a full-time job but I wasn’t getting through the qualification quick enough for my liking, so I made the decision to leave my job and study full-time from home.”
Sharon continued: “My aim is to complete Level 2, 3 and 4 in Accounting with the AAT. I think I may go onto CIMA or ACCA but beyond that I’m not too sure right now.
“I’m hoping down the line, once opportunities arise, I can have a more definitive idea on where I would like my studies to take me, but for now my aim is to get to the end of Level 4.”
‘Loving my AAT studies’
The flexibility of distance learning has been key for Sharon, who is also enjoying the support and guidance from the Premier Training team.
She remarked: “I’m absolutely loving my studies so far – my only regret is not starting them sooner!
“I didn’t consider a classroom option as initially I was studying around a full-time position, however I’m very happy with my decision to use Premier Training.
“The support so far has been fantastic – support is only a phone call or an email away. I have been in touch with different tutors, course advisors and staff at Premier and everyone is so helpful and supportive. Nothing is too much trouble. Just brilliant!”
