Nicola Harris’ AAT studies have helped her progress from Purchase Ledger Clerk to Finance Manager.
Having gained all three AAT Accounting qualifications, Nicola is now expanding her skills and knowledge further with Sage Payroll training. Here’s her Career Story:
I’d only ever done admin work and it was just by chance I got a job working in finance. I think it was at this point I found I enjoyed working with numbers and wanted to learn more.
I picked up the day-to-day stuff pretty quickly, but wanted to know the job in depth, so decided to put myself through my AAT qualifications. I didn’t think I’d get very far but every time I passed an assessment, it spurred me on to do more.
I’ve stayed with the same company throughout my learning, and my job role and salary has progressed with each qualification, starting as a Purchase Ledger Clerk and working my way up to Finance Manager.
Distance learning with Premier Training was certainly the best option for me and fits in perfectly around my job, as I was able to study before and after work. They were always on hand in the evening if I needed any help or advice and were always quick to respond to any emails.
I watched a few Facebook Live sessions which were held outside of work hours, and there was a good selection of videos which were easy to navigate to through MyPTA.
I’m currently studying Sage Business Cloud Payroll levels 1 to 3 and am planning on staying in my current role, taking on more responsibilities as the company continues to grow.
