Eva Christian completed her AAT journey earlier this year, gaining the Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting to add to her Level 2 and 3 qualifications.
Here, she tells us how AAT qualifications have supported her career path to becoming an NHS Finance Analyst – and why distance learning with Premier Training was the perfect option for her:
Up until studying the AAT qualification, most of my working life had been spent in retail banking. Like a lot of people, COVID made me rethink what I wanted to do so I decided to start studying for an accounting qualification.
A year or so later, after completing Level 2 Accounting, I changed roles and was able to use some of the bookkeeping skills I’d studied for.
I carried on studying the other levels and have recently started a new role as a Finance Analyst with the NHS. This wouldn’t have been possible without completing the full qualification, as AAT Level 4 was one of the essential entry criteria.
This is a great role where I can use so much of the knowledge I’ve gained. During the interview, they told me how much they value the AAT qualification, so it has definitely supported my career progression.
One of the best things about studying with Premier Training was the flexibility it offered. I was able to stay in full-time work and study at weekends and in the evenings. The assignments were marked quickly and the feedback really made a difference to my understanding of the subjects.
As I’ve just started a new role, I need to focus on that for the time being but longer term I’m definitely thinking about progressing further. Having the full AAT qualification gives me various options which I need to look at in more detail.
