Every year, thousands of people study AAT Accounting and Bookkeeping qualifications via distance learning but how do AAT Assessments work?
It’s an efficient, flexible way to gain internationally-recognised qualifications while working full-time (in accountancy and finance), raising a family or planning a complete career change.
This flexibility extends to AAT assessments, which are provided across the country at AAT Assessment Centres where students’ knowledge and skills are tested via computer-based assessments on PCs or laptops.
Each AAT qualification consists of multiple units and assessments:
- AAT Level 1 Award in Bookkeeping: 1 assessment
- AAT Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping: 2 assessments
- AAT Level 3 Certificate in Bookkeeping: 2 assessments
- AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting: 4 assessments
- AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting: 4 assessments
- AAT Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting: 5 assessments
Upon completing – or nearing completion of – each AAT unit, students can contact their local AAT Assessment Centre to book and pay for their exam.
Assessment slots are available on most days of the year, usually at a few weeks’ notice. Find out more at: https://www.aat.org.uk/qualifications-and-courses/assessments
While AAT assessment fees are set, centres will usually add an admin fee. Find your nearest AAT assessment centre and an indication of their costs here.
No remote assessments are currently available for Q2022 qualifications.
